Mit dem Dual-Stick-Shooter Minigore -l485- konnte Mountain Sheep vor rund zwei Jahren im AppStore einen echten Volltreffer landen. Seit dem wird das Spiel regelmäßig durch kostenlose Updates erweitert und mit neuen Missionen versehen.
Nun hat der Entwickler im Toucharcade-Forum ein neues Spiel angekündigt: Minigore Zombies. Leider gibt es noch nicht viele Informationen zu diesem Titel, lediglich eine Teaser-Grafik ist veröffentlicht worden.
Wenn man sich dieses Bild genau anschaut, steht dort, dass Minigore Zombies für das im Herbst herauskommende Betriebssystem iOS 5 entwickelt wurde. Da dieses erwartungsgemäß nur auf Geräten der neueren Generation laufen wird, bleiben alle Besitzer älterer iPhones und iPod touchs damit leider bei diesem neuen Spiel aussen vor.
Dazu passt auch, was Timo Vihola, einer der Entwickler, im Toucharcade-Forum geschrieben hat:
iPhones & iPads are getting faster each year and it allows for greater freedom in game design. We’re seeing all those cool games that weren’t possible two years ago.
In Death Rally and Bike Baron it’s been super exciting to have that fresh start and utilize the new hardware.
With Minigore we were starting to slide further and further away from the starting point. That game was state of the art 2 years ago, not so much today. We had discussions about what to do and how to support the older devices & versions. It felt like you’re banging your head against the wall and nothing is happening. So we thought it’s time to let go and give Minigore a rebirth on the new hardware.
As an artist it’s so much more fun when you don’t have to think about what body part to remove next from your character design in order to make it run on iPod touch 1st gen. Especially when you’ve already cut out legs and noses
I have to say it was a great way to get those creative juices flowing again!

Bei dieser Gelegenheit wollen wir auch noch schnell über ein anderes Spiel berichten, das Mountain Sheep bereits vor einigen Wochen angekündigt hat, das bei uns aber noch keine Erwähnung gefunden hat: Bike Baron. Zu diesem neuen Trial-Spiel, bei dem du mit einem Motorrad waghalsige Kurse bewältigen musst, gibt es bereits ein paar Preview-Screenshots sowie ein erstes Gameplay-Video.
